No âmbito do Mar-marionetas - Festival Internacional de Marionetas de Espinho, a Câmara Municipal de Espinho promove a 4ª edição do concurso Marionetas e Outras Formas de Animar, que pretende continuar a ser uma plataforma de divulgação e promoção da produção artística de marionetas e outras figuras cénicas manipuláveis, bem como de reconhecimento dos seus criadores, já conceituados ou emergentes.
As edições anteriores deste concurso, pertinente e ímpar em Portugal, demonstraram-se um sucesso, evidenciado pela participação dos artistas bem como pelo enorme interesse dos públicos, assumindo-se já como iniciativas de referência no campo do teatro de marionetas.
In 2017 the Espinho’s Municipality is organizing the 4th edition of the "Competition for Puppets and other Animated Scenic Objects”, integrated in next year’s edition of "Mar-marionetas - International Puppets Theatre Festival of Espinho”. This event, which combines the competition with an exhibition of the selected works, presents itself as a platform to promote and publicize the artistic production of puppets and other scenic objects that can be manipulated, and also its creators, either renowned or emergent.
Since 2014, both the competition and the exhibition have proven to be a unique and stand-out success, evidenced by the participation of the artists and creators, and also by the interest demonstrated by the public and general community. In fact, Espinho’s "Competition for Puppets and other Animated Scenic Objects” is already one of the events of reference in the field of puppet theatre, both in Portugal and abroad. Therefore, in 2017 Espinho’s Municipality has decided to organize this event at an international scale, and promoting it so around the world.
